Beijing - Swire Properties, a Hong Kong property developer, has selected MPG China as the agency of record for its retail property project, The Village at Sanlitun.

MPG is tasked with developing and implementing the media planning and buying strategy for the Sanlitun landmark, which is expected to become Beijing's hottest destination for shopping, entertainment and art and cultural activities.

Vanessa Marescialli, director of marketing for The Village at Sanlitun, said the group is aiming to build a community that puts the emphasis on people. The Village at Sanlitun is the capital's cosmopolitan centrepiece that brings together elements of traditional China with modern Beijing.

"MPG impressed us with [its] ability to connect with concepts that drive The Village at Sanlitun," she said.

MPG China counts Cadbury, Credit Suisse, Hyatt International, LoLo and Maurice Lacroix as clients.
