Singapore - The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has handed ESPN Star Sports the rights for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games and London 2012 Summer Games across the Indian subcontinent and SE Asia.
ESS will deliver the Olympic coverage across cable and satellite television platforms as well as on IPTV and Mobile TV across 22 markets in the mentioned regions. "We are extremely pleased to partner with the International Olympic Committee. This is the first time that IOC has awarded the rights to a pay TV platform across this region," Manu Sawhney, MD for ESS, said.
IOC executive board member, Richard Carrión said ESS's support "will enable us to provide coverage of the Vancouver and London Games to Olympic fans and help to promote Olympic sports across the region."
