Hong Kong - To further ramp up viewership, TVB has signed a pact with The Walt Disney’s Disney-ABC International Television to bring US drama series on its English network and CatchUp TV online service.
The deal signifies TVB's intensified effort in strengthening its relations with US entertainment networks and expand its digital media assets.
Through the agreement, TVB will broadcast drama series including Dirty Sexy Money, Lost, Desperate Housewives, and Brothers & Sisters this Thursday.
Some of these programs have been broadcasted on paid now TV and received high ratings.
The CatchUp TV service online will allow viewers who missed the shows to watch the full episode online, with all videos free of charge.
S. K. Cheong, general manger for Broadcasting of TVB emphasised TVB Pearl is a market leader in building viewship and audience involvement in Hong Kong for the best drama series from America.
Rob Gilby, senior vice president and MD of Disney-ABC International Television for Asia Pacific, said TVB is breaking ground of the U.S. TV contents. Given TVB's brand, quality of consumer experience, and marketing and protection of programming, the pact will provide mutual benefit for both parties.
