Singapore - Coca-Cola and McDonald's have initiated a pan-Asian partnership to launch a series of Beijing 2008 Olympics-themed glasses which is available to the local market until 3 September.
Participating countries include Singapore, Malaysia, China, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Korea, New Zealand, Australia and Japan. John Chacko, who is the marketing director of McDonald's division for The Coca-Cola Company, said "This is the biggest pan-Asian partnership promotion with up to 16 million consumers collecting the glasses".
The glasses are given away with the purchase of any large extra-value meal at McDonalds.There are five designs (Archery, Volleyball, Athletics, Basketball and Swimming).
"A celebration of three global icons: Coca-Cola, McDonald's and the Olympics. The unprecedented scale and reach of this promotion is made possible by the collaboration with our strategic partner of over 50 years, McDonald's," Chacko said.
