Hong Kong - The Hong Kong Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies (HK4As)has combined its creative, interactive and media into a mega-event comprising online, offline and media awards under Kam Fan this year, with online ad company Pixel Media taking on title sponsorship for the awards.
Spencer Wong, chairman for the 2008 Kam Fan Awards and the MD and ECD for McCann Hong Kong said this year's awards "will fully reflect new market trends and social media popular in Hong Kong".
He explained that the association is introducing new categories to recognise for instance, the best use of search engine marketing, ambient, best social media applications and best new ground-breaking innovation.
Pixel Media's title sponsorship for the Kam Fan Awards this year proves online media is no longer second cousin to traditional mass media. According to CEO Kevin Huang, "The Kam Fan Award has opened new categories this year, recognising the excellence in using integrated and interactive media." He added, "It reflects the growing importance of the internet and new media and further promotes these applications to international standards."
The theme for this year's Kam Fan Awards is "It could be anything".
The Kam Fan Awards aims to raise the standard of local advertising to international levels and maintain creativity by recognising work created and developed in Hong Kong and Mainland China, The deadline for entry submissions for advertising agencies and related organisations for the 2008 awards is on September 14, 2008.
