Hong Kong- A 9.5% growth in visitor arrivals for the first five months of 2008 has encouraged the Hong Kong Tourism Board to expand on its recently launched Olympic promotions.

Supported by Visa, MTR Corporation, local trade and organisations from different sectors, HKTB on Monday kicked off its 2008 Hong Kong Summer Temptations launch ceremony in Kowloon.

Grey Worldwide, which was awarded the HKTB business earlier this year, said above-the-line advertising will be accompanied with tactical marketing including outdoor activities.

HKTB will feature special privileges and promotions provided by a few shopping malls and food districts through web site and leaflets on a bi-weekly basis.

HKTB recorded more than two million visitors in May 2008, a 6.3% increase compared to May 2007. Chinese visitors contributed 6% of all visitors in May 2008 whereas European visitors are declining.
