Singapore - DDB's interactive arm, Tribal DDB, has promoted director of integration Jeff Cheong to head of Tribal DDB Singapore and ECD. Cheong in turn has hired Alan Leong as ACD, Jimmy Yar as business director, Chris Lim as head of copy and Ciaran Lyons as associate technology director.
Tribal DDB aims to advance its digital skill set and manage more projects involving social media marketing, mobile marketing and Web 2.0 site development.
"Tribal DDB has injected a new level of creativity to our work, which is into customer engagement, online word-of-mouth inline with our DDB focus on effectiveness. Cheong and Leong are the new creative leaders in digital, and we're excited how the team has taken to data-mining, analytics and content generation for brands like McDonald's and StarHub," David Tang, president and CEO of DDB Singapore, said.
Other Tribal DDB clients include Visa ComGateway, Johnson & Johnson, Republic of Singapore Air Force and Intercontinental Hotel Group.
Leong formerly owned his own interactive agency Vibrantstyle after a year at TheUpperStorey. He works on both online and offline commercial work and has worked with Nokia, Motorola and Lenovo.
Yar returns to DDB and previously senior AD at DDB working across various sectors like alcohol, fast food, telecommunications and tourism.
Lim crosses over from DDB, and dealt with clients such as UOB, RSAF, Robinsons and Philips. Lyons relocates from Australia where he was with interactive agency Visual Jazz. His focus will be on innovating creative technical solutions for social marketing, analytics and mobile applications.
