WPP Asia continues strong growth path

China - Mainland China continues to be among the strongest growth markets for the communications goliath WPP, with its China operations posting a 19% jump in yearly revenues.
WPP, owner of agencies including Grey Worldwide, Bates 141, MindShare and Ogilvy & Mather, said overall, Asia Pacific revenues were up almost 18% in the first five months of 2008. But China, along with India are its two best performing markets.
The results, released at at its annual general meeting in London yesterday (24 June), WPP said all regions around the world showed strong revenue growth, with the United States up almost 7% and Europe and the United Kingdom up more than 5%. Central and Eastern Europe were up almost 21%.
The group's PR and public affairs area reported a 10% increase in worldwide revenues from its companies including Burson-Marsteller and Hill & Knowlton.
