Sweden-based apparel major H&M topped the first-ever ranking of top-performing European retail brands in terms of value, conducted by Interbrand, a global brand consultancy.
Other top performers in the ranking of 25 brands include the French-owned Carrefour, Sweden's Ikea, the UK's Tesco and Marks & Spencer.
Interbrand has been operating in Malaysia for over 15 years with companies like TM, Reckitt and Benkiser, Perodua, UEM, Skomi among others. It recently launched a brand strategy and communications system for the Iskandar Regional Development.
"Interbrand was tasked with developing a brand positioning and visual identity for the region that could speak with one voice to the three target audiences - investors, talent and the local community. After thorough research we developed visual identity, visual communications system and applications for the region," Shehara de Silva, Managing Director, Interbrand Malaysia, said.
