Regional - Discovery Networks Asia has promoted Kevin Dickie to the newly created role of GM for SE Asia while announcing several executive promotions across its offices in China, Taiwan, and Australia.
"The creation of a general manager role for SE Asia demonstrates Discovery's commitment to these markets. It will help position us more competitively and allow us to fully tap the potential of the rapidly evolving Southeast Asia business," Discovery Networks Asia Pacific EVP and MD, Tom Keaveny, said.
Discovery has also created two new lines of business for SE Asia and North Asia which will join the region's existing operations in China, India, Australia / New Zealand, and Japan.
Tommy Lin has been promoted to SVP and GM, North Asia, responsible for all aspects of Discovery's operations across Hong Kong, Taiwan, and South Korea. In China, Discovery's Fang Chang has been promoted to SVP, general manager and public affairs, China.
Mandy Pattinson, VP and country manager for Discovery's operations in Australia and New Zealand, has been promoted to SVP and GM while James Gibbons remains as SVP and GM for Discovery and Animal Planet Japan.
All GMs report to Keaveny, who said the changes reflect the increasing maturity, complexity and scale of the company's businesses across the region.
The news follows the Discovery's decision to integrate the India and Asia operations, and the appointment of Rahul Johri as SVP and GM for Discovery Networks India, as reported by Marketing.
