Singapore - For the fifth year in a row, DDB ruled the Effies Singapore by winning four out of the five gold awards handed out at last night's gala event.
TBWA\Tequila and OMD Singapore prevented what would have been a clean sweep of top awards for DDB, taking home gold for ‘Everyone wants to be part of it' campaign for Sentosa Golf Club.
DDB's latest Effies achievement came in the form of gold recognition for work done on StarHub, Republic of Singapore Air Force, and HPB campaigns (‘Retail therapy' and ‘Life is a gamble'). The agency also won a silver Effie for a McDonald's Chinese New Year campaign.
DDB Singapore has won ten gold Effies, including Singapore's only Asia Pacific Gold Effie, since the Effies came to Singapore in 2004.
"The Effie is where DDB salutes our clients for believing in great work, and shows our passion for results," David Tang, president and CEO for DDB Singapore, said.
Silver awards were also given to BBDO Singapore and OMD Singapore, Religion and MindShare Singapore, Ogilvy & Mather Singapore and MindShare Singapore, Saatchi & Saatchi and Mediaedge:cia Singapore, Qais Consulting, and M&C Saatchi. Bates also won silver for its ‘Drugs. If you play, you pay' campaign.
