Hong Kong - Google is aiming to innovate a number of its ad serving tools as part of a major push into the online marketing space in Hong Kong and Mainland China.

Hoping to harness the potential and growing interest in online revenue streams in China, Google is integrating online marketing tools, AdWords and AdSense, into the Chinese market, in search of potential business customers through the forums.

John Liu, VP of sales for Google Greater China, said the company's biggest clients in China are located in the travel, auto, electronic, health and import sectors, whereas in Hong Kong insurance and banking are the hot button sectors.

Tencent, QQ, CCTV, SINA and JobsDB are also among Google's ads partners.

Liu said Google's goal is to help small and medium-size businesses transform into big corporations by offering them better ads solutions than traditional marketing offers.

"You need to take advantage of this long-tail business. Small and medium businesses are getting into a critical stage right now and they need to be taken care of," Liu commented.

A local team has been recruited to help Google head off some of the challenges the complex market offers.
