Singapore - Sporting Spectrum's country head and regional manager Justin Sampson, based in Singapore, abruptly left the company yesterday after less than six months into the job.
A Sporting Spectrum spokesperson confirmed the departure and Australian-based MD, Chris Robbs is now in Singapore to oversee the operations in the interim. A replacement is currently being sought after.
Sampson told Marketing that he will now concentrate on his business, Sampson Marketing, which provides services such as emceeing and auctioneering as well as his Rugby commentator gig as a studio guest at ESPN Star Sports.
He denied his departure had anything to do with the mock-protest, conceived by Upstream Asia and Sporting Spectrum, to beef up awareness for the Anlene Orchard Mile Run which recently ran afoul of the law.
He was formerly director of advertising and sales sponsorships for ESPN STAR Sports covering Australia, Middle East and SE Asia.
