1. First job ever?
Spraying weed-killer on streets of Gateshead

2. First job in advertising?
Small London agency, before emigrating to Canada where I joined JWT.

3. Best job?
My first real management job as MD of JWT Malaysia, was most enjoyable, and a great experience. Managing an office is always more personally rewarding than a regional or global job. Ask me about Batey later, but so far, so good. I'll need to complete the job first, and then reflect on it.

4. Perks of your current job?
Still feeling young and alive and energetic, not a bored old fart.

5. Worst job?
Spraying weed-killer on streets of Gateshead

6. Marketing/Advertising professionals you admire?
Ian Batey. Martin Sorrell (seriously!). David Ogilvy.

7. Best career advice you've ever been given?
There's always more than one way to skin a cat. Delegate and monitor, but know when to get involved.

8. Why a career in advertising?
Big bucks, beautiful women and the thrill of the chase. But not necessarily in that order.

9. If you weren't in advertising what would you be?
Piano player in a brothel.

10. How do you wind down?
Sailing. Just returned from Top of the Gulf regatta. Knocked into overall second place by a few seconds in the last race. Bugger!
