Friendster campaigns for stars

Singapore - Friendster and Global One Media's 'italentstar' was led by a digital campaign, supported by print, helping the competition recieve over ten thousand applicants.

This was Friendsters first regional foray into talent search and the event leveraged on its reach to internet savvy users of at least 16 years of age. A 'call-for-entries' campaign was launched late December as banner ads were placed in Friendster to promote the event. Ads were also launched in various print and digital media in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines. The competition started proper in mid-February and subsequent ads were fronted by the contestants as well as event host, Natasha Monks of Amazing Race Asia fame.

The offline and online partnerships were formed with Wotif.com, Jetstar Asia and Animax. In Singapore, ads ran on various sites such as  the Singapore Tourism Board and Funkygrad.com which is a tertiary student media outlet.

Singapore's Kalaivani Nagaraj and the Philippines' Nino Ventura eventually won in their respective male and female categories.
