Hong Kong – The BBC World News expects its healthy growth in advertising sales and viewer numbers to continue as its new-media platforms gain traction.

The British broadcasting has now competed its "tri-media" business platforms which will see all BBC World News content delivered across TV, online and mobile phones.

The company has also streamlined the BBC World News brand, today unveiling its new look and direction.

Sian Kevill, editorial director at BBC World News, said in the past year global advertising sales had increased 20% with Europe and Asia experiencing significant increases in distribution revenue and audience growth.

“This is quite a challenge, given the market we operate in,” Kevill said.

“For six years in a row advertising sales have delivered 20% plus growth, that’s an amazing figure for any business.”

Heading into the next year she said BBC World News' cross-platform would continue to be a key growth area.

"Mobile is absolutely growing as an important medium."

Neil Caldicott, the creative director behind BBC World News’ new look said the changes reflect a fresher and more optimistic BBC World News.

“We’re no longer just a TV station,” he said.
