Global - Martin Garvin has left his position as vice president and CPO at Dell, to be replaced by Kevin Brown. His resignation comes after Dell announced plans last year to slash its workforce with an eye to cut costs.

The Wall Street Journal reported Dell's confirmation that Garvin had "made a decision to retire".

Garvin had been with the company for 10 years, and will be replaced by Kevin Brown, a Dell spokesperson told ProcurementAsia.

The company had last year announced plans to axe 8,800 jobs, or 10% of its workforce as part of efforts to reduce approximately US$3 billion to US$4 billion in costs over the next several years, local media reported.
