'Got Character?' gets Webby

Singapore - Digital agency, Yolk is the only Singapore-based company to be awarded in the leading categories at the 12th Annual Webby Awards.

Arc Worldwide and Ogilvy were given an Official Honoree - awarded to top 15% scorers - for work on HP Toyorama and Levis respectively.

Yolk was a winner in the Events category for, 'Got Character?', a website constructed to host the agency's character design competition which launched in 2007, and supported by Media Development Authority of Singapore. Yolk is currently working on another competition to run later this year.

"To join the esteemed company of industry leaders such as Amazon.com, eBay, Yahoo!, iTunes, Google, FedEx, BBC News, CNN and Flickr as Webby winners is a real accomplishment for us, and shows that Singaporean bred design firms can really compete on the global scale," Prakash Somosundram, co-founder and director for Yolk, said.

Awards are judged by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences.
