Aegis Media gets new global CEO

Global - Jerry Buhlmann, Aegis Media CEO for EMEA since 2003, has been promoted to global CEO of Aegis Media - he joins the Aegis Group's board on 2 June.

He is tasked to maintain the company's growth record and continue expansion in digital and emerging markets, while extending its client relationships and ensuring its market competitiveness.

Buhlmann takes over from incumbent Mainardo de Nardis, who has been in the role for two years, as the company reports organic revenue growth of 10.3% in 2007 and the first quarter of 2008.

He served as CEO of Carat International, responsible for Aegis Media's international clients, from 2000 to 2003. Prior to that, he founded UK media agency BBJ in 1989, which was acquired by Aegis in 1999.

"As CEO of Aegis Media EMEA, Bulmann has been responsible for 70% of Aegis Media, overseeing double-digit revenue growth and improvement in operating margins each year. He has also spear-headed a significant new business effort, bringing in GM Europe, Johnson & Johnson and Mattel over the past 18 months," Robert Lerwill, CEO of Aegis, said.
