Bezurk goes as Wego comes
"It was a tough call, especially for those of us who have become attached to our quirky brand name. But as fond as we were of Bezurk, it wasn't all that easy to spell or even pronounce. And now that we're ready to expand our footprint globally, we wanted a name that was easy to remember and tied more closely with what we do," the company stated in a release.
Still in beta, Wego together with its predecessor will be accessible concurrently for a while, however there are plans to take Bezurk down permanently and redirect users to Wego.
The company, which Rupert Murdoch's News Corp has a stake in, is set to expand its footprint in APAC with an improved site with new features and intuitive tools.
According to a Pacific Asia Travel Association's release in March, the region's travel and tourism industry is estimated to haul in revenues to top US$4.6 trillion (S$6.34 trillion) and visitor arrivals is expected to reach 500 million by the end of 2010.
