Certis CISCO bags S$360million contract
Singapore - Certis CISCO secured the first ever 5-year Master Security Services (MSS) contract with the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) to provide security services at various key air control centres in Singapore.
The S$360 million contract, which last from 1 April 2008 to 31 March 2013, was signed by CAAS' acting director-general and chief executive officer Tan Lye Teck and Certis CISCO's chief executive officer Paul Chong at the signing ceremony with the option to extend for a further five years.
The contract is to maintain a high level of security while improving the service standards provided by security staff. Certis CISCO will be responsible for screening of passengers' checked-in baggage, pre-board screening of passengers and the control assessment to prevent unauthorised entry of persons and vehicles into security restricted compound.
"This new approach of having a Master Services Security contract will help ensure a higher level of service quality and security standards. This single security services contract is expected to improve coordination and control in terms of ground operations, as well as foster a longer term partnership between CAAS and Certis CISCO," said Tan during the ceremony.
The service provider's recruitment, deployment, training supervision, planning and management processes for the delivery of high-quality services were taken into account during the evaluation process.
The agreement covers security protection over Singapore Changi Airport, Seletar Airport, Singapore Air Traffic Control Centre and Changi Airfreight Centre.
