OMD wins $300m Intel media biz

Global - Intel Corporation has handed its US$300 million global media account to Omnicom Group's OMD, beating off Starcom and incumbent Universal McCann in the process.

"Each of the finalists impressed us, but OMD gave us a stronger sense of possessing world-class media industry leadership and state-of-the-art business intelligence and analytics," Nancy Bhagat, VP of sales and marketing group and director of integrated marketing for Intel, said.

The review began in December last year and was cut to the three finalists in early March. At press time, Intel could not comment on industry speculation that a review of its creative business, won by McCann Erickson in 2005, would follow shortly after the conclusion of the media review.
