Proximity confirms GM role

Shanghai - Proximity China, a unit of Omnicom Group, has confirmed the appointment of Narelle Hicks to a newly created role as general manager of its Shanghai operations.

In her role, Hicks will oversee the agency's digital, interactive and CRM business in partnership with ECD Glenn Bartlett.

Some of the key clients Hicks will serve include General Electric, Air New Zealand and Procter & Gamble.

Carol Potter, CEO for BBDO China, said Hicks newly created appointment is a reflection of the agency's rapid expansion in the last 12 months.

Potter added in the short time Hicks has being with the agency, she's managed to attract new clients and made a difference.

"I'm impressed with her ability to see the overall picture with what we are doing in BBDO and the good collaboration between BBDO and Proximity", she added.

Based in Shanghai, Hicks reports directly to Potter.

Hicks was previously regional business director for OgilvyOne Worldwide and had served clients such as Nestle, Diageo, IBM and American Express. Before OgilvyOne, she worked for Wunderman Cato Johnson and FCB Asia Pacific.
