BBC opens new advertising opportunities
bbc.co.uk Published: Apr 18, 2008 Singapore - BBC World's new embedded news service offers pre-roll advertisers opportunities outside of the UK, and Global Brands Allianz and Shell have signed up as exclusive launch advertising partners. Both companies have bought out news video clips across BBC.com for the first two days of the new service. According to research done by ComScore, the BBC website attracts more than 29 million non-UK users per month, with about 50% of those users who visit its news pages. The service, which features embedded news video clips on BBC.com, allows users to view broadband-quality news video within the text content page, rather than launching a separate player, and is predicted to increase news video usage on the site. Tom Bowman, VP International Digital Ad Sales, said, "This execution of embedded news video clips on BBC.com offers easy access to great content for our users and targeted, impactful coverage for our advertisers too. We are delighted to have secured Global Brands Allianz and Shell as our exclusive launch partners".
