Korea - Cheil Worldwide has appointed Bruce Haines, former group CEO of Leo Burnett London, as president and global COO based in its Seoul headquarters.

Nack-Hoi Kim, the CEO of Cheil Worldwide, said, "Haines joining the company is part of an effort to grow our global competitiveness to achieve this goal. He will take on a crucial role in our global strategy in strengthening our global network and providing world-class solutions to clients."

Haines previously worked for Young & Rubicam and AMV/BBDO. In 2002, he was appointed CEO of Leo Burnett London and later a member of the agency's global management board. He was responsible for the successful merger of Leo Burnett London with D'Arcy and the integration of Arc, the BTL and digital subsidiary.

He has previously worked with clients such as P&G, Harrods, Porsche, Hennessy, Yellow Pages, Adidas, Revlon, Saab, Hyundai, Barclays Bank and McDonalds.

Haines will be responsible for Cheil's global advertising and creative, building a gobal center of excellence which oversees global communication strategy, creatives and conducting projects for enhancing integration among networks.
