Malaysia - Google and blog ads could see more competition from Yahoo when the latter introduces its new search marketing solution - Sponsored Search - in Southeast Asia soon.
With the new solution, advertisers can test and rotate different ads, and have access to new tools to manage their ad campaigns.
A Yahoo spokesperson said Sponsored Search would allow advertisers, whether large or small, to tap into Yahoo's 53 million users in the region. "This pay-per-click advertising model starts from as low as one cent," he said.
The spokesperson also said, "Small and medium business owners can manage their own accounts without the need for dedicated IT personnel. Users can set up their accounts within minutes and immediately start advertising their services or products."
