Worsley E&G (Bechtel) took top honours at the recent corporate challenge, edging out other teams such as Standard Chartered Bank and MobileOne.
Held from 10 to 12 April 2008 at Bintan, M1 Asia Challenge 2008 saw 30 companies such as Standard Chartered Bank, Nokia Siemens Network and MobileOne pitting against each other in physical and mental tasks.
As part of the challenge, teams had to undergo gruelling mental and physical tasks such as kayaking, night navigation and Chinese chess.
"The team was fantastic. We kept our focus throughout and recognised each other's strengths immediately. This experience has really taught us to appreciate our individual capabilities and truly makes the win a lot more satisfying," said the captain Brian Mayerick from Worsley E&G (Bechtel).
ACP Magazines swept up the award for Best Female Team while Standard Chartered Bank, picked up the Best Financial Team. The Best Technology Team award went to Polycom - A.
The overall top three teams from M1 Asia Challenge 2008 will go on to represent Singapore at the World Team Challenge 2008 which will take place from 11 to 14 December in Cyprus against Europe, United Kingdom, United States, Portugal and South Africa.
