Amanda Leong joined ACR Capital Holdings as its new HR manager. She is responsible for the entire gamut of HR functions that deal with the needs and activities of its staff. As ACR is a start-up, Leong has the opportunity to plan, develop and implement HR policies, programmes and procedures from ground zero – a role more challenging than her previous one where all the HR structure and policies are already in place.

Staffing company Kelly Services has hired Ng Bee Wah as the company’s new senior human resources manager. Ng’s new responsibilities see her in charge of the full HR spectrum, which includes manpower planning, talent acquisition and development, organisation design, performance and rewards management. Ng, who was previously a HR manager in a leading automotive company, says, “The dynamism of the staffing industry presents itself with the challenge of attracting, developing and retaining talent. I look forward to working with and learning from the best leaders in Kelly Services in human capital development.”

Cecilia Chia has rejoined The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore for her second tenure as human resources director. Chia was previously from Fullerton Hotel where she was responsible for strategic people asset management. In her reprised role, she will now oversee all human resources and training and development aspects of the Ritz-Carlton staff. Previous initiatives Chia spearheaded at Ritz-Carlton include implementing the Workplace Health Programme and other benefit schemes and employee welfare activities. She was also accorded the Outstanding Achievement for Best Practices in Employee Retention.

State Street Bank & Trust Company has appointed Calvin Tay to the position of head of HR, Singapore branch. In his second tenure, he will work with the company’s branch management to facilitate employee engagement & retention programmes, performance planning & review, compensation & benefits and recruitment. Tay credits the strong business growth, working culture, the company’s focus on employee development and the regional HR team for his return. Previously the regional head of HR in Cantor Fitzgerald, Tay says his new position provides him with excellent opportunities in training and career development within a global financial institution. “The best part in this role is that I get to work with business leaders in different areas of the company’s rapidly growing businesses.”
