Singapore - Yahoo and Formul8 have launched a campaign to position Yahoo Answers in Singapore as the most relevant community knowledge location as well as generate participation in the key subject categories of Yahoo Answers.
Yahoo Answers is a worldwide initiative aiming to change the users search for information - rather than search term queries, users are able to pose questions to people. The campaign featured TVCs, OOH, online, guerrilla marketing (tissue packet giveaways), and viral videos.
"Yahoo Answers was particularly interesting because, at this stage, having a user generated content Q&A platform is still relatively new but the response to it has been amazing and it proves that people do want peer responses, advice and opinions and that This is the future of search marketing and Yahoo is, as always, at the forefront of where new benchmarks are set online for products that keep people connected, educated and entertained," Fiona Bartholomeusz, MD for Formul8 said.
The 12 week campaign promotes local content relevant to Singaporeans and has the tagline ‘Ask and Your World Answers' - opinion leaders such as MakanSutra's KF Seetoh were approached to send in questions to generate interest and reinforce the idea that Yahoo Answers is where you get answers.
