First Lotus winners revealed

Pattaya - Y&R Singapore and The Sweet Shop Auckland walked away with the lion's share of awards at last night's New Director and Film Craft Lotus Awards ceremony.

Y&R Singapore took the top haul with one Gold and one Silver Lotus in the Film Craft category, followed closely by The Sweet Shop with one Gold and one Bronze.

In total, out of 235 entries received, two Golds, three Silvers and six Bronzes were shared between Auckland, Mumbai, Singapore, Sydney and Bangkok

Y&R took the top gong for its work on Astro Mobile in the category of Use of Music Track, while The Sweet Shop's Gold was for Directing on Tooheys Extra Dry and the Bronze was for Production Design.

Another New Zealand agency, Film Construction Auckland, took Silver and Corcoise Films from Mumbai won a Silver award for its work titled ‘Haathi Cement'.

In Editing, a Bronze went to Goodboy's House from Bangkok for its work on Exit Facial Foam. Gooddil Films from Sydney won a Bronze for its work entitled ‘Toyota Landcruiser - Born' in Cinematography.

@radical.media from Sydney won a Bronze for its work on Honda CR-V in Special Effects, while Leo Burnett Sydney picked up a Bronze in the Original Music category for the agency's work entitled ‘See Things' for McDonald's.

In the Sound Design category, Liquidstudios from Auckland won a bronze trophy. No awards were given out for the Animation category.

Awards for the newly introduced New Director category were also given out yesterday, with two Silvers and four Bronzes presented but no Gold awards were given out.

Two Silvers trophies were given to Leo Burnett Co./beacon communications kk from Tokyo and Revolver from Sydney respectively for the Short Film category. The Guild of Commercial Filmmakers from Melbourne won a bronze trophy in this category.

For the On-Air Spot category, Wowwowtank from Hong Kong and Gooddil Films from Sydney won a Bronze each. For the Viral Spot category, a campaign entitled ‘Sponge' developed by Robber's Dog Films from Auckland won a Bronze.

A total of 31 entries for the category were submitted.
