Singapore - Microsoft's Online Services Group has named Jane O'Connell as regional director, product planning Asia Pacific, based in Singapore.

In her new role she will lead the Asian Planning activities and report to Charles Hauck, director of World Wide Planning, and will work with content and product specialists across the region. She will focus specifically on video, homepage and key entry points, as well as mobile strategy for Japan, Korea and India.

O'Connell was previously at ninemsn, a joint venture between Microsoft and PBL Media, where she developed ninemsn's strategy around content and services, helping it maintain its position as Australia's leading provider of online media content and communications services.
