Singapore - Word of mouth marketing agency Vocanic has hired ex-Publicis account director Liam McCance as its new business development director.

In this newly created position, McCance is responsible for the development of strategic client relationships as well as identifying prospective new markets within the region. He was at Publicis for two years working on the regional Citibank and HP accounts.

"With more and more marketers looking for the ability to harness the power of WOM and shifting traditional media dollars to this channel, Vocanic is expanding rapidly. Liam's experience with network agencies in Europe and Asia on large accounts such as BAT and P&G will further enhance our ability to develop and deliver WOM as part of integrated campaigns for our clients," Ian McKee, CEO for Vocanic, said.

Vocanic's clients include Heineken, Discovery Channel, StarHub and Samsung, HPB, Agva, and TopShop.
