Media Relations - Apr08
Kan Published: Mar 25, 2008 The Peak Target audience? We reach out to Singapore's top CEOs, professionals and entrepreneurs. Main focus? A unique mix of corporate and lifestyle stories and opinions for successful leaders. USP? The Peak is a luxury lifestyle publication circulated to a select list of the country's corporate elite. Preferred PR approach? An email that is short and succinct has the best chances of trumping my short attention span. Worst time to contact you? Preferably not on the week before the magazine's deadline. Never on a Monday morning. Preferred day for attending events? Any day if it's the right event. Deadlines and material? Preferably by the first week of the preceeding month Do's and don'ts when approaching you? Do understand our publication's focus and target readership. Don't send high-resolution images to my email account. Ever. Best PR approach so far? One that doesn't feel like PR at all.
Rainer Sigel Target audience? Mostly female consumers within the top 10% of the income pyramid. Main focus? High jewellery and exclusive timepieces only, and presented in a fashion magazine style and format. USP? Everything covers jewellery and watches only. Preferred PR approach? Always know exactly what you are talking about and say it politely. Do's and don'ts when approaching you? Every one who approaches us in a serious manner deserves our time and will receive a qualified reply within the shortest time possible. Your attitude towards a free lunch? Who has time for lunch. But if there happens to be time, a free lunch will buy our time, not our opinion.
Millionaireasia Brian Yim, Group Publisher & Managing Editor, Millionaireasia Target audience? For millionaires only - those with liquid assets of US$1 million (S$1.39 million) excluding their primary residence. Main focus? We celebrate not just the millionaire lifestyle but the triumph of the human spirit. USP? It is the platform of choice to connect to Millionaires in Asia. Preferred PR approach? The thoughtful, customised approach works better for us rather than a one size fits all press release. Worst time to contact you? Around the middle of the month. Preferred day for attending events? Tuesdays through to Fridays Deadlines and material? By the end of the month. Do's and don'ts when approaching you? A friendly and professional approach works best. Best PR approach so far? The ones who do some homework and pitch something we really like. Your attitude towards a free lunch? The more elaborate the lunch, the greater the expectation. Better to skip the lunch or dinner if you can't help.
Icon Target audience? Bilingual elite women in their mid 20s to late 40s who are cosmopolitan, stylish and influential. Main focus? Luxury fashion, timepieces, jewellery, beauty, people, features and lifestyle. USP? A style guide for the elite; rich & famous. Preferred PR approach? Email and follow-up with phone call. Worst time to contact you? Before 10.30 in the morning. Preferred day for attending events? Anytime in the day, but avoid middle of the month. Deadlines and material? Early submission is encouraged. As long as they come in during the first two weeks of the month, we are fine. Do's and don'ts when approaching you? Know the product well before you call. Best PR approach so far? None. Your attitude towards a free lunch? Open to lunching in small groups - a good platform to exchange notes and info. |
