UPS buys out Romanian partner
Published: Mar 17, 2008
UPS has acquired its Romanian service contractor Trans Courier Service, a deal that will facilitate UPS customers looking to ship to and from Romania.
Terms of the deal were not revealed but the transaction is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2008. The acquisition will enable UPS in Romania to solidify its premium service offering to customers and improve its service quality in the country.
Wolfgang Flick, president of UPS Europe said, "This agreement opens a wealth of opportunity for UPS customers seeking to do business to and from Romania. With direct control of our own network, UPS will have the flexibility it needs to expand operations and to invest in infrastructure, technology, brand presence and employee development.”
TCS has been UPS's authorised service provider in Romania since it was founded in 2000, offering international delivery services through a nationwide network.
