Changi lands airport of the year award
Singapore Changi Airport clinched the Airport of the Year award at the 2008 Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Aerospace & Defence Awards ceremony.
It is the first time the airport has won such an award from Frost & Sullivan.
According to the organiser, Changi Airport is selected for ‘demonstrating world class efforts in meeting the demands of all its end users from airlines, passengers, cargo carriers to commercial non-travelling visitors.’
Lim Kim Choon, director-general and chief executive officer of Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) said: “This award is an affirmation of the teamwork and dedication put in by all airport staff - the prime movers behind Changi Airport’s success. It is also a testament to the success of various CAAS’ policies and initiatives that help to maintain Changi Airport’s status as one of the best airports in the world.”
Changi Airports International (CAI), a subsidiary of CAAS, also won the Airport Investment Company of the Year award at the same ceremony.
