Sydney - Earth Hour is set to launch a series of television commercials featuring athlete Cathy Freeman running a one hour course through Sydney's CBD, switching lights off in residential areas, pubs, restaurants, hotels, offices, as well as iconic landmarks.
The commercials continue the campaign idea of ‘together we can all make a difference' through illustrating the difference one person can make in just one hour.
"Our idea was to show the most one person could do for Earth Hour, then ask people to imagine what could be achieved if we all acted together," Stephen Coll, writer for Leo Burnett, said.
On a rainy night, 6,399 lights were switched off during the one hour course, equating to 435kg of greenhouse gasses saved if the lights stayed off for an hour.
