Beijing - Nokia's Design My Internet Life program has attracted more than 200 participants since it launched in December last year.
Nokia said participation rate for the campaign, which launched with China Computer World late last year, had increased 86% in recent weeks, following a slow start.
The campaign invites consumers, especially Chinese students, to use the internet to submit design concepts of future internet-capable mobile devices via their mobile phones.
In the development of the campaign, Nokia has held roundtables for its IT designers, college students and professors to share creative ideas on how mobile phones help them access their digital world.
Totti Helin, senior manager of Nokia China Design Team, said the campaign aims to position Nokia at the leading edge of internet and mobile convergence.
"China has the largest mobile subscriber base in the world," Helin said.
The competition will end on 22 March.
