Global - Porter Novelli has appointed a new chief marketing officer, Marian Salzman, who is currently serving as JWT Worldwide's EVP and CMO.
Salzman joins in March and is known in the business as a trends-spotter. She will be tasked to drive the agency's brand planning and positioning, oversee all brand communication and business development, as well as create and execute thought leadership and reputation management programs.
"Her proven expertise in analysing and acting on trends in marketing and communications will benefit us and our clients. We recognise that there is a fundamental shift taking place in marketing communications, one in which influence is increasingly achieved through conversations with stakeholders rather than by brute force. Promoting this concept of 'intelligent influence' will be a major focus of Salzman's efforts at the agency," Porter Novelli's CEO, Gary Stockman said
Prior to joining JWT in 2005 she was for four years, EVP and chief strategy officer for Euro RSCG Worldwide. Salzman has also served as president of Young & Rubicam's global think tank, Intelligence Factory.
