Singapore - StarHub has won the exclusive broadcast rights for the 2008 UEFA European Football Championship, and details on the win are expected to follow soon.
The UEFA European Football Championship, held every two years, enjoys a large following in Singapore and the UEFA EURO 2008 will take place in Austria and Switzerland, from 7 to 29 June this year.
"We will certainly look at ways to maximise our customers' UEFA EURO 2008 experience across our pay-TV, mobile and online platforms," Adit Harinasuta, head, services & solutions, StarHub, said.
StarHub's UEFA EURO 2008 broadcast rights cover the 'live' telecast of all 31 matches, from Group Phase to the Final, as well as the opening and closing ceremonies. The pay-TV operator also plans to offer the unprecedented telecast of all UEFA EURO 2008 matches in high-definition.
StarHub also holds the exclusive broadcast rights of the Barclays Premier League (BPL) for three seasons in Singapore, commencing from the current season. It will also offer selected sports events on its Pay-Per-View and Demand TV platforms.
