Regional - Richard Halmarick, a long-standing senior executive of Aegis Media Asia Pacific, has resigned from the media buying group.

Halmarick, who in late 2005 was promoted to the role of CEO Aegis Media Asia South, said he is leaving the company to pursue personal interests.

Patrick Stahle, CEO Aegis Media Asia Pacific, said Halmarick had informed the company of his intentions to leave in December last year to ensure a smooth management transition.

A replacement will be announced in four weeks time.

Stahle added that Halmarick had made an "important contribution" to Aegis Media.

"Richard is one of our most respected managers. He has taken on the Carat values to drive us forward, and has been instrumental in helping to grow the business across the Asia South region," Stahle said.

Aegis Media has a long relationship with Halmarick, which dates back to early 1998, when Aegis' media buying agency Carat purchased Halmarick Media in Australia.
