Australia - Ogilvy & Mather Asia Pacific and STW Communications Group have appointed Stuart O'Brien as CEO for Ogilvy's advertising, direct and digital businesses in Australia and New Zealand.

Stuart will report directly to STW CEO Michael Connaghan and STW executive chairman Russell Tate. O'Brien was an owner and head of STW company Moon Design, an award-winning design and branding agency based in Sydney. STW acquired 100% of Moon Design in 2006. The companies O'Brien will lead include Singleton Ogilvy & Mather, Badjar Ogilvy, Ogilvy One, Ogilvy Interactive, Neo @ Ogilvy, Ogilvy New Zealand and Etcom. The companies are owned in a joint venture by STW and Ogilvy Worldwide in 1998 when Ogilvy & Mather merged with John Singleton Advertising.

In other news, STW has promoted Andrew Varasdi to MD, and Bruce Matchett to ECD of the Sydney divisions of the mentioned companies. The management teams in Melbourne and New Zealand remain unchanged.
