Regional - Sony Ericsson has handed its global advertising and communications business to McCann Erickson London but the move will not weaken incumbent Saatchi & Saatchi's grip on regional work, a spokesperson for the mobile handset maker said.
The move renews relationships between Sony Ericsson and McCann Erickson London, the agency that help to launch the brand's Walkman phones in 2006. In a statement, corporate VP and head of marketing for Sony Ericsson in London, Dee Dutta, said the company was looking at increased integration across all marketing disciplines including online, print, TV and retail as well as greater consumer engagement.
"McCann Erickson has a deep understanding of how this works and can help us to grow the brand globally even further. Saatchi and Saatchi have done a good job for us so far, especially at a regional level, and they will continue to be a partner of Sony Ericsson," she said.
