Regional - McCann Erickson has lost its grip on Unilever's ice-cream portfolio, including the lucrative Magnum brand, after a global pitch.

The global decision will see Unilever's ice-cream brands split with DDB and Lowe. At this stage, it is unclear how the business will be split, however Lowe is understood to have landed the lucrative Magnum brand.

In a statement David McNeil, VP marketing at Unilever said McCann had made a substantial contribution to the ice-cream business.

The global account is estimated at more than US$300 million.
