Shanghai - Grey Shanghai has landed the creative business for the Bank of Communications (BOC), China's fourth largest banking group, in a four-way shootout.
Steve Lin, Grey China's president and CEO, said branding would form the focus of the agency's work for BOC, as the banking sector in China experiences heavy competition.
Grey pitched for the business against JWT, Saatchi & Saatchi and BatesAsia. The media and events accounts are still out to tender.
"This is a very prominent and important account. The Bank of Communications are very serious about brand building over the next few years," Lin said.
The news follows Grey's recent win of Uni-President's green tea account last month.
