IIR digs life science exhibitions

Singapore - Global exhibitions company IIR has beefed up regional operations with the formation of an APAC Life Sciences division that will launch events and its first exhibition is scheduled for October 2008.

IIR's APAC Life Sciences operations are led by Singapore-based divisional director Andrew Keable who said the company has development plans in place to rapidly launch and acquire businesses in the life science exhibitions and media space in the region.

"We are developing a business in Asia that will draw on our experience and expertise across the Informa group globally giving Asia a truly internationally competent leader for the Life Sciences sector," he said.

Keable joined the company in December last year and was formerly a regional account director at McCann Erickson, Asia Pacific.
