Leveraging on its exclusive standing as Singapore's sole provider of postal services, Singapore Post launched a new division, DMrocket, in July 2007 to undertake the company's direct marketing business which is growing at an exponential rate thanks to somewhat of a monopoly in this market segment.
The result is an impressive debut at 6th place. In fact, of the votes SingPost garnered, only one was not in 1st place - a remarkable feat considering it was not even in the running for last year's top 10 DM agencies. Notably, however, barely any agency types voted for SingPost. More than half of SingPost's votes were from respondents with only local jurisdiction and the tally for both genders is exactly split down the middle.
Business for the new unit is certainly soaring, with big-name brands like Sony Ericsson, Best Denki, AIA, Gain City and St James Power Station being added to its robust stable of existing clients including Ikea, Yellow Pages, Courts, Isetan, Acer and Pizza Hut Singapore.
With a one-stop shop offering everything from highly targeted lists, creative executions, printing and response handling right through to warehousing, letter-shopping and delivery, we can expect to see DMrocket rocket higher up the chart in the years ahead.
