Regional - Intel is yet to confirm reports that its media buying business, currently held by Universal McCann, is up for review.
The McCann Worldgroup won the Intel business in March 2005. Universal McCann handles media buying with McCann Erickson and RMG Connect responsible for the creative and interactive accounts.
Rajat Basra, regional business director at Universal McCann, was unable to comment on the news.
Nick Jacobs, corporate communications manager for Intel Asia Pacific, said the company was yet to make an announcement on its agency line up.
"At this point we don't have any specific to add... nor do we have anything to share," he said.
A media executive familiar with the business said Universal around the region would be effected by any global moves.
She added that speculation was mounting that Intel would hold a creative agency pitch following a media agency review.
