Hong Kong - Turner Entertainment Networks Asia has promoted Soumitra Saha from senior VP of regional advertising sales & marketing, to senior VP & GM responsible for the overall development of Turner's entertainment brands in Asia.
Saha replaces Ian Diamond, who resigned after seven years at the helm of TENA and 13 years with Turner.
His role will include leading the group's business strategy of aggregating content across multiple platforms from TV, web, broadband wireless content to publishing, consumer products and live events.
Saha, based in Hong Kong, reports directly to Steve Marcopoto, president & MD for Turner Broadcasting System.
Saha joined Turner as director of research & strategic planning in 2000 in charge of developing research initiatives in India and three years later relocated to Hong Kong to become VP of ad sales, a role that include overseeing promotional licensing. In 2006, he added marketing responsibilities to his portfolio and took over as VP of regional ad sales & marketing before becoming promoted to SVP.
