Rudy Markham, the recently retired CFO of Unilever has joined the Board of Directors at UPS.
Markham, 61, recently retired after a 39-year career with Unilever. He joined the company in 1968 as a commercial management training and spent most of his early career in the finance function of various Unilever companies in Europe before being appointed financial director of Unilever at Zurich.
Markham later joined the Board at Unilever as the strategy and technology director and became a member of its executive committee in May 1998. He was appointed CFO in August 2000 and retired on October 31.
At UPS, Markham will serve on the Board until the next UPS annual shareowners' meeting in May 2008, at which time he is expected to stand for election to a regular one-year term.
