Singapore - Ken Mandel, former Neo@Ogilvy CEO and OgilvyOne VP of digital for APAC, looks set to join Yahoo! SE Asia as VP and regional MD.

Mandel's new role will be based in Singapore, responsible for powering Yahoo!'s communities of users, advertisers, publishers, and developers in the region. Marketing understands he will report to the company's global VP of emerging markets, Keith Nilsson.

"Yahoo! is the Internet leader in Asia and we are delighted to have Mandel on our team to take our SE Asian operations to the next level. We are rapidly expanding in this region, and attracting top calibre talent along the way. Mandel's relevant experience in the digital space will truly increase our current momentum," Nilsson said.

As reported by Marketing, Mandel resigned from his post at Ogilvy almost a month ago for personal reasons, which are believed to be primarily due to the heavy travel schedule associated with the dual Ogilvy role. He joins a company that only weeks ago shut down its social network, Yahoo 360°, reported by The Economist as an event that hardly anybody noticed.
